Sunday, Lazy Day

Here's what the inside of the hutch is holding.  Not a great picture because of the glass and the light.

Kyle had a 'Stop Ahead' sign before us.  We decided to put it up, just for kicks (:
Kyle had this trunk out in the shop.  It was on top of a dresser and I asked what was in it.  He said it was from his mom's kitchen when she lived in Kennewick.  We took it out of the shop and got it cleaned up and went through it.  It was full of recipes and cookbooks.  It also had a bunch of newspaper clippings with recipes, a dictionary and a bible.  Cool things!

Not sure where we are going to put the trunk yet.  Right now we are sitting on the couch watching tv, with our feet on it.

While in Oregon on vacation, I got these awesome glasses, for $2.97 PLUS 30% off!!  What a steal.  They are perfect.

Right now I am using my great grandma Ruth's telephone.  It reminds me of her and instead of just having it lying around, I decided to use it.

A pretty lazy Sunday afternoon.  It is quite hot outside so we are just hanging out inside.  Maybe the bathtub will be painted this week and we can get started on the bathroom?????  Maybe!!!

Hutch Project.....Almost Done

Here's what my hutch looked like yesterday....
And here is what it looks like today!  It is missing knobs however.  I haven't gotten them yet.  That will be this coming week.  I think that it looks so much better.  Kyle hung a piece of beadboard in the back after he got done taking the mirrors out.  WAY better!  Will show you a picture of the inside tomorrow.

Floors and Sod

A week ago Monday here's what my bedroom floor looked like:

Here's Marcus laying out what my floor is going to look like!  (:

 And here's the finished product:
They put a smile on my face!  The office got a hardwood floor also.
Here's some of the character that its floor has!  Love it!!
So yesterday morning Paxton calls me from her work and tells me that there was going to be a truck returning a pallet of sod and did I want it?  YYYYEEEESSSSSS!!  Here's the reason why I want it:
See this little "patch" grass being watered in front of the well house door?  I know, it's hard to see.  I planted an area earlier this spring about 5'x8' and it came up.....in places!
 Here's a better look:
NOT so good, huh.  Well, here's what I went up and got yesterday:
 (:
And after a little effort, here's what I have now:

I know, I know...this is what grass is suppose to look like after you plant it!!  I am so happy with it.  The weather has heated up a bit so I am going to have to be sure to keep it nice and wet for the next week or two to make sure I can keep it alive.  Anyways, I am pretty happy with this project.

Summer...

Doesn't summer mean projects?  Come on now!  Just imagine what I would be doing if I didn't work for 3/4ths of a year!!

Here's one that is underway.  I am going to sew all these buttons on this piece of fabric to make the letter "B".  First step is done...I have placed buttons over the template to see if they would actually look like a "B".  I think it does quite nicely!  Now to sew them on.  Will post a picture of the finished project later.
Here's another project that I am starting...I am going to paint my hutch, finally!

And another one has made progress as far as getting unloaded onto our patio.  This is for the bathroom in our room.  We are waiting for a claw foot tub to get repainted and then we are going to re-do our bathroom.  We got a piece of marble the other day in Spokane, picked up all the tile, made a 8:30 pm trip to Lowe's last night to pick up a toilet and sinks....I am getting so excited!

There really is one project that is finished (well, except for the vent covers that are on their way....Marcus promised!) but the camera that I took the pictures with is not here right now...it's in the truck and Kyle has it.  I will try to get them uploaded tonight so you can see.  They are fantastic!!  I promise.

Ryan + Paxton

I stole this picture of Ryan and Paxton from my BFF Leslie's blog.  Thanks Les!  Since I don't have one of my own, I have to go to such drastic measures!!

Sleeping Kitty-Cats

Aren't they cute????  I like them way better like this rather than climbing in the middle of my flowers!
