PURGE

Can you say "throw away"?  Yesterday when I asked Kyle what he was going to do for the day he answered, "back the trailer up into the shop and start cleaning it out.....the top included".  My reply:  "Right on, I'm going to help to make sure it really happens!"  He asked me if I was really serious because, he was.  Especially up on the loft, he wanted things to be cleaned up.  No problem.  (I think I have watched a couple of Hoarding:  Buried Alive shows because I was definitely serious!)  It took us most of the day but we purged through years of crap getting stored in the shop.  We now have our bathroom back....although, it needs some work on the water system to bring it up to "useable" standards, the loft has been gutted and only a few things remain in small piles.  Piles that you can actually see what is in them!  There are TONS of almost empty paint cans which have to be disposed of properly, not just tossed into the trash.  They are at least in nice, organized stacks under the staircase, waiting for spring so they can be emptied onto plywood, dried and then disposed of.  Something about toxic environmental hazards.....who knew!  The trailer is FULL and tarped and ready to be taken to the dump tomorrow.  I don't want that thing hanging around, waiting, waiting, waiting.  To the dump!!!  It feels lighter.  Looks less messy and cluttered.  Looks good!

It Just Takes A Second....

And things that you know can be lost....forever.  Treat today, this minute, this second, like it could be the last.  We lost a beloved friend yesterday, and almost as bad was the fact that a family member was with him when it happened.  God has a plan, and we must choose to trust it.  My prayers go out to both families.  You are loved, Chuck, and you will be missed.

10 on the 11th

OK!!  I blew it!  YESTERDAY was the 10th and I didn't do 10 on the 10th.  (I just read Marcie's blog and there it was, SHE did 10 on 10! Way to go Marcie!) So, here's my 10 on the 11th:

  1. I get reminded every day just how precious life is and how we need to be remembering that.  One of my friends' mother had a stroke this week.  She is recovering and out of ICU.  God is good.
  2. Yesterday I attended a training on security for our school data base.  I learned a lot and one thing I learned is our is a MESS!  I am up for the challenge of getting it under control.  It will take a while but it WILL happen.  Someday.
  3. Work has been busy.  Our data base is releasing a new format on March 3rd so I have been going to various school buildings in our district and have been showing the secretaries what it is going to look like.  Fun to go out and see other offices in our district.  It's fun to connect with the secretaries face-to-face instead of over the phone.
  4. Next weekend is a 4 day weekend for me!  I am looking forward to it big time.  Kyle and I are going to go somewhere for a little get-away.  We are trying to decide where to go....Portland would be nice, the Oregon Coast would be nice, but we are considering a new place, just to check it out....Missoula, Montana.  It has been a place I have wanted to visit since driving through on one of my trips somewhere (can't remember for sure just which trip it was!) and maybe this would be a good time to go check the town out.  PLUS it has quite a few antique stores in it so that's a bonus.
  5. Today our wrestling teams are at Regionals.  Good luck to you all!!!  My fingers are crossed that each of you will earn a trip to the State Tournament next weekend!  Go Eagles!!
  6. I am down to 1 tax return to do today.  I got the business one done, our personal one done, Paxton's done and now today I am going to do Briar's.  Once I get it done I can go in and finish his FAFSA and get that submitted.  I got Paxton's FAFSA done when I got her return done.  Getting all these things done are always a big relief.
  7. Getting ready to make sure our data base is cleaned up for scheduling next month.  I am excited to try the new method out this year....making the students able to log into their skyward account and pick all their classes and alternates on a computer this year!  We will see just how many times the computer and I clash.
  8. It's been overcast around here lately and lots of fog in the early mornings.  The rain has come a couple of days and it is so nice.  The smell is awesome.
  9. Softball is getting ready to start here in the next couple of weeks.  I can't believe that it's this time of year already.  Once this sport starts it seems like the rest of the school year just absolutely FLIES by!  Hold on everyone!  June is a blink away!!!
  10. Life is good!

Bits And Pieces

Lots of things have been going on and not lots of documenting!
Here's a shot of the front yard a couple of weeks ago
when the snow dropped in on us.
FUN!!

Kyle complains because he doesn't get to fish very much.
This year alone he's been like 4 or 5 times so I'd better
not get the complaints!

He went yesterday with Craing and this was one of his good catches.

Here's Raje's shoes....
CUTE!!
And here's Marie....

Lovin' school!

LAST weekend Brent, Sheryl, Ryan, Gregory, Paxton and I
went to Bozeman and checked out Montana State University.
We had a good time.
The school rocked!
Montana State University Bobcats
The tour was not complete without checking out the
football field!
We enjoyed a tour by a student.  She showed us the campus and then
we went to a couple of the dorms and got a look around them.
It was a very nice, clean campus and town.
It is pretty awesome for the kids.  They are pretty struck at
what lies ahead and the big choice they have to make.
I told Paxton to just let it all sink in and take her time before
she chooses where to go.
On the way home we stopped at Missoula and checked out
the University of Montana.  It was Sunday so there was very
little going on around the campus.  We did get out and get a look at the
you guessed it....football field!
I'm glad it's them that have to make a decision about where to go to
school.  They have some good choices.
