10 on the 11th, Again

OK, so I blew it again.  I'm off a day on the whole "10 on the 10th" thing that I started this year.  Actually, I did THINK about it being the 10th last night at about 9:30 or so, but was not motivated to get up and get the computer out and get the thing done.  So, it's once again, 10 on the 11th.

1.  This last week was Kyle's 47th birthday.  Eric, Kaylee and Steven came out and we all had dinner and then sang him Happy Birthday and he blew out his candle.  Kaylee got to hold it and thought that was pretty cool.  He got a huge assortment of birthday presents this year....what a lucky guy!  He deserves the best.

2.  SICK of the wind!!  It is March therefore the wind is blowing.  I am tired of it and it's only the 11th.  This morning the rain fell, poured actually, for a bit.  The rain is needed....the wind?  Not so sure about that!

3.  Yesterday morning this got delivered to the house:

She is a cute chocolate lab and her name is Sadie.  She too, is one of Kyle's birthday presents.  She is adorable and has the softest fur.  And a lot of it.  She had like 11 brothers and sisters so she was a little lonely last night for a bit.  She eventually allowed herself to hunker down and go to sleep.  Kyle has big plans for her not to be far from his side.

4.  Yesterday kicked off the softball season with the first game, well, if you can call it a game.  It was pathetic.  It was against La Salle.  Volleyball is La Salle's sport.  NOT softball.  I'm not even going to give the scores from the 2 games.  That would just be unsportsmanlike.  Andy did play the younger girls and tried NOT to run up the scores.  Of course Friday the wind wasn't blowing and it was like 72 degrees outside.  About face for yesterday...wind and more like 27 degrees!  Gotta love softball weather.
The first "meeting at the mound" for the year.  Captains Shanika, Paxton and Whitney.

5.  On-line scheduling for the students seems to be going OK.  There are a couple of glitches, but nothing that has been life-threatening.  Easy fixes in other words.

6.  HSPE testing is this week.  All sophomores and those juniors and seniors who haven't passed the tests are taking them Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  I don't particularly like these days because they mess up the regular schedules and when that happens the kids seem to be more on the wild side and things can go ascue.

7.  When Kyle and I went to Missoula on President's weekend we bought some dining room chairs from Pier 1.  We bought 2 chairs of 3 different kinds.  Does that make sense?  3 matching sets of chairs, but not matching each other.  It's OK if you don't get it, the sales lady thought we were crazy too!  They are very comfortable and we think they look great!  That's all that matters.  I guess.

8.  The week before last we had an electrician come to the house and do a couple of things for us.  First, he moved the chandelier in the dining room over to the middle of the room instead of right when you walk in the door.  THAT was certainly nice.  It gets better....next he took out the track lighting in our bedroom and put can lights in there.  THAT was much needed.  And last but NOT least he took out the UGLY flourescent lights in the kitchen (only 2 of the 3 were even working!) and put in can lights!!  THAT'S the BEST!!!  Love the new lights!!!!  I have to find a penant light that I like to put above the sink.  I am looking at one from Pottery Barn.  Maybe next month I will try to save a few $$$'s and can buy it!  Keeping the fingers crossed!

9.  Part of the NFSD Bond that got passed a couple of years ago that allowed the school district to build a new elementary school also included gutting the junior high and putting a re-constructed one up.  The project has been happening now for a couple of months.  It is fun to watch the progress.  The elementary school got built in the summer so I wasn't able to see all the stages.  The only bad thing that has happened that is affecting us with the new jr high building is that the internet is being affected by the height of the new gym going in.  People are now scrounging around finding solutions to move the line of sight for the internet.  All that means for us is that the internet has been going on and off, e-mail has been going on and off, and the server the same.  It is an inconvenience to say the least.  I hate the fact that we are so dependent on a computer working in order to have our daily lives run smoothly.  At least the daily ones at work!!

10.  And last but certainly NOT least.....Paxton has FINALLY finished her on-line World History class!!  Graduation.....here she comes!!!  What a relief...for her and me both!!!
