Saturday, day 2 of the tournament. Our first game was a bright and early
9:00 am start time. We played Lakeside (Nine Mile) from Spokane.
Here's the pre-game meeting of captains and coaches at homeplate with the umpires.
Hope with a catch in left field. Grayson coming over just in case.
The ball got by Shanika and a runner came in to score.

And walks....well, gimps down the baseline. Poor girl!
I hate the fact that she is having to play the last games of her
high school career with a torn ACL. What a bummer.

In the 4th inning we were down 0-4. Lakeside was happy and loud.
We were looking for a way to get the game going.
The bases are loaded and Paxton is up to bat.
On a 3-2 count (no lie!) Paxton swings
and hits....
a homerun!
A GRAND SLAM
to be exact!
A happy coach??
That hit turned the game around. Lakeside bowed their heads
and all their enthusiasm went away. The Eagles on the otherhand,
became a new team and took over the game....and perhaps the tournament!

Michelle missed a ball that was hit to her at 1st but Paxton almost
made the play anyway. She got the ball and dove to the base but
the runner beat her out by just a smidge.
The end of the game. The final score was 7-5 Connell.
