Photos From The Vaca....

Our vacation started Friday.  We stopped in Stephenson and then again in Portland before heading to the beach.  Here's mom in Powell's Book Store.  This place is huge!  They have a map so you can find your way around!

 Yesterday (Sunday) we went up to Astoria and hung out at the Farmer's Market and then visited a few stores.  We also went to Seaside and got groceries at Safeway and shopped at a couple of stores....see a pattern!

Smores, Yahtzee and SkipBo

Tonight we played SkipBo, Yahtzee and roasted Smores.  I wanted to get a picture of Ryan and Paxton as the sun was going down (to get a shadow picture) but was way to late!  Instead I just got this not good colored picture.  Oh well.  Will try again some day.

 Briar got home in time to roast a marshmellow for a smore.  He also took over for me in Yahtzee and then rolled a couple of them and thought he was all that.  Such a sore winner!!

This morning everything was a go with Bradley and he is officially a graduate of Basic Training for the Air Force!  We couldn't be prouder.  He got his assignment:  tech school at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas, to become a mechanic for the Stealth Bomber!!  WOW!!  Not really sure what this all means for him but I am sure he will be able to tell me once he gets there and gets going.  No time for a wasting....he gets on a bus at 3:45 AM Monday morning to head there and get going! 

Boot Camp Graduation

Kyle leaves tomorrow, with his mom, to San Antonio, Texas to watch Bradley graduate from Air Force Boot Camp.  He is so excited he can hardly contain himself.  They have been talking on the phone the last couple of days and he is ready to see him.  They haven't seen each other since the day he left back in May, the 17th to be exact.  They will fly out of Spokane to Salt Lake City, and then on to San Antonio.  After the graduation they are going to go to Dallas to visit Blanche's Aunt Dot.  I am so glad they are getting this opportunity.

Sitting with Grandma

Today I woke up and got ready to go into town to sit with grandma.  Today was a memorial service for a cousin of mine that passed away a few months ago.  My dad's family came from the Portland area and the Seattle area to attend the memorial service and to have a mini-family reunion.  I got to spend the afternoon in town with my grandma.  Dad went in and picked grandpa up and took him to the service and the house so he could visit with his family.  Grandma and I talked and had a great time together in between her little cat naps.  She is so cute.  I love her!!  When dad and grandpa came back she was happy to see them, especially grandpa.  They are a treasure.  Dad said that grandpa had a great afternoon.  Thanks Grandma, for a great afternoon!!!

Fishing and Painting

A beautiful morning today!  I didn't sleep last night, very much that is.  There was a fire call around 10:30 last night, up the road at Overturf and Smith Canyon.  I didn't hear the Overturf part so I thought the fire was just up the road.  I got in the car and went up the road to take a look.  It didn't look like anything until I started coming home and then the blaze was present.  It didn't take them that long to get it out though, so that part was good.  Anyways, I didn't go right to sleep, I think I was too hot or just not tired I guess!  I was up at 4:30 this morning with the sun.  I am actually shocked that I'm not out now, or that I didn't get a nap in.  Taking after my dad and no sleep I guess.

Here is Kyle's motorhome all packed up, boat in tow, ready to go!  He is fishing in a tournament this weekend in Boardman.  He is fishing with 3 other guys.  Hope they have fun.  He was ready to go!!!

Last week I painted Nick's room, the office and my computer/spare room.  Yesterday Kyle went crazy and painted my living room and kitchen/dining room for me.  By crazy I mean 'quickly'.  I went into town and got his boad tabs from the courthouse.  I ordered them last week online but they didn't get here in time for the tournament so I called and they said I could come down and they would reissue me some.  They still weren't in the mail today either!  They are lost somewhere.  Anyways, I am moving slowly, taking my time getting things put back in order.  I wish I would have thought to take some before pictures but I didn't.  I did unbury my camera and take a couple of pictures about how things look tonight......still a huge mess.  In my defense.....I am really cleaning things before I start to put things back. THAT is taking a long time....like all afternoon to clean the stupid blinds!!  I hate those things!  I am going to see if I might like some curtains tomorrow....I plan to take a sheet and make a makeshift curtain to see if I might like it.  We will see.

Can't wait until I can show you my old door from the ranch.  It was an original on the shop...I love it!  Hopefully things will look somewhat put together by tomorrow night.  If not, oh well!
